Some trends come and go, others never die, and some, which have seemed to fail miserably, seem to come back out of nowhere. Case in point: the bubble skirt. Notorious for making anyone's thighs quiver in feer at their baloon-like resemblence, somehow, designers have figured out how to make this look work.
I absolutely love the bubble skirt look, but when they first came into the mainstream a few years ago, I think that the problem was that they were too short and too poufy. Now they seem to be a little longer and more streamlined.

Derek Lam Fall 2006 Ready-to-Wear Collection
Fashion designer Derek Lam's Fall 2006 collection was one part color theory, one part corporate nymph. With a wide variety of looks in one show, Lam managed to mix a number of contemporary and past trends to create looks that will be very hot for fall.
In the now, Lam employed lots of color, belted waists, leggings and ankle socks with tailored menswear looks. For fall, peacoat trenches, furs, cowel necks and the black, grey and white palette were very hot. However, the black gauntlet gloves will probably not translate into real world wear. The most surprising come back? The one shoulder dress!

Give them the cold shoulder this fall with an off the shoulder top. Pair with cuffed shorts and ankle boots for a daring late summer look.
One of the hottest pre-fall trends among celebs right now are ankle boots in any color, fashion or form. Whether dressed up with a short sparkly cocktail dress or worn casual with shorts and a tee, these have become a staple among designer fashion mavens. The only rule? Wear them with something short...the point is to show them off! However, self-conscious ladies beware...ankle boots can make even the most toned and trim legs look short and stumpy.

We think that Kiera Knightley took our advice on sundresses and belts to the extreme. While this is a very, well, inventive look, we wouldn't suggest using a belt as a bra. Sorry Kiera. Our tip of the day? If you are going to do the sundress and belt look, please do it the right way...with your belt around your waist.

Sienna Miller and Jude Law
Dior Gaucho Denim and Leather Saddle Bag
Well, I surrender...last summers' "it" girl Sienna Miller still has it going even though her signature cowboy boots and flowing skirt look is dead. Though no longer as big a fashion icon as she used to be, Sienna still knows where its at in designer handbags. A cute geometric print shirt and skinny jeans are the perfect combo for this rugged, stylish bag from Dior. I wonder what fashion trends Miss. Miller has up her sleeve next...

Dress and Belt, H&M
Fall fashion prediction: Retro fashion + belts are going to be totally hot! I'm just crazy about belts right now...something about taking a regular old top and adding a belt at the natural waist is just so appealing to me. This is a flattering look for almost anyone...whether you are using a buckle belt, ribbon or sash, this look really accentuates your good qualities and creates a cute little waist (ie: brings the attention to your, ahem, assets, and hides a little tummy). Try it out for yourself with a pair of skinny jeans and flats for a cute late summer trend look.
Oh Cher Horowitz, where are you when we need you? You must talk some fashion sense into your alter ego! While I just love Silverstone (she usually has great celebrity style), this dress is more nightgown than red carpet frock. It's absolutely adorable, but it looks like she should be holding a teddy bear instead of a clutch. Fashion designer tip of the day? Shapeless dresses in nightie-like fabrics and colors will definitely end up looking like nighties, designer apparel or not.

Alexander McQueen's Fall 2006 line
Stunning, elegant and outrageous, fashion designer Alexander McQueen's ready to wear lines are always out of this world. A favorite designer of the stars, McQueen has designed for almost everyone, most notoriously for Kate Winslet's "Titanic" costumes.
Always full of whimsy and original ideas, McQueen's Fall line consisted of monarch butterfly headgear, tartan plaids and 1940's and Victorian influenced gowns and suits. It's the perfect wardrobe for a 1940's Scottish femme fatale spy. I project that plaid will be very hot again for this Fall's fashion trends thanks to McQueen.
