Baby Blues and Florals for Spring, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Hilary Duff (source)

Kahri Hibiscus Ruffle Tube Dress $80

Kahri Hibiscus Boyshorts $24

The verdict is in...the hottest new color of spring is baby blue. Whether used sparingly on interesting accents like Hilary Duff's killer Miu Miu heels or full-on in a fun and flirty dress, baby blue is the new black for this spring.

Florals are also always fun for Spring, and Kahri gives their motifs some extra mileage with sweet ruffle detailing. Check out Kahri's complete line for hawt indie fashion designs you can't find just anywhere.

So, if your wardrobe is feeling a little blah and you want to spice up that black and white ensemble from your winter wear, add a dash of baby blue for a springy look. Not ready yet for baby blue shoes? Try some blue beads, a baby blue clutch, earrings or a tank peeking out from underneath your top.

Mini Madness, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Kahri Hibiscus Mini Dress, $80.00

Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz (source)

Fergie (source)

Carmen Electra (source)

All of that time that you have been clocking in at the gym this winter is about to pay off because mini dresses are in for Spring. Time to bust out those toned thighs and calves because anything goes this season for mini dresses. Whether you want to go conservative or uber short, there is a mini dress out there for you.

If you choose to go with the "super mini" look, like Fergie Ferg, then make sure you follow up with a pair of tights or (shudder) leggings underneath so you don't give everyone around you a Hollywood style show of your bits. And unless you are supermodel tall, make sure you pair your mini with some killer heels to give your legs the most mileage.

May we suggest: the hibiscus trim mini from Kahri is perfect for almost any body type and gives a little more length for mini-shy wearers to play with.

Death Hippie Apparel Line

Each shirt is hand-treated after printing so no two shirts are alike. We've sought out the finest cotton and colors for our designs. The Tees are soft, thin and very comfortable.

As seen on cast of VH-1's Best Week Ever and is worn my Jared Leto, Billy Bob Thornton, Elijah Wood, Brody Jenner to name a few.

Our top-picks

L'Imagine - $69

Seen recently worn by Jared Leto!
The original! First of the line. Graphics of a large grey dragon and two intertwined lions with wings and logo.

Redspot - $59

Light blue shirt with graphics of foliage overlayed by fine white Indian patterned line drawing with skull in center. Orange twig pattern. Hand applied darker blue wash beneath graphics.

Neckline - $69

A favorite. Chocolate color with distressed black pattern running around a small eagle and skull design overlayed with handwriting (supplied by a famous tragic female rockstar who shall remain nameless!) Darker chocolate dyed under graphics to enhance the art. With all these layers of graphics, you would think you would feel the ink on the shirt, you would be wrong.

Fall $69

Light blue shirt with graphics of foliage overlayed by fine white Indian patterned line drawing with skull in center. Orange twig pattern. Hand applied darker blue wash beneath graphics.

So Ready for Summer, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

New York Couture, Lace Shorts, $80.00

New York Couture Gaucho Pants, $60.00

Geftaki Gemstone One Piece Suit, $194.00
(available in Sailor and Creamsicle)

This blah winter weather has me so ready for summer...luckily, LeFashionista has some new fun playclothes to ring in that warm weather. However, these styles are not your run-of-the-mill, "Yeah, I got it at Urban Outfitters/Target/Old Navy" pieces.

Get your short shorts on with New York Couture's one of a kind Lace Layered Shorts. Available in size S/M in a variety of color combinations (Turquoise with Green Lace, Baby Blue with Light Pink Lace, you name it, they have a color combo for you.) We also love New York Couture's Gaucho Pants in a variety of vintage patterns.

The truly daring fashionista will love Geftaki's one piece Gemstone swimsuit, available in Sailor and Creamsicle colors. One part Sofia Loren retro-chic, one part new age fashionista.
