Be Your Own Style Icon & Create Your Style With Yoana Baraschi And Black Halo

Be your own style icon! And create a unique style just for you. Today we are featuring classic designer Yoana Baraschi, paired with pearls. Or get a more casual approach with a Black Halo dress and silver flats. Either way, you’re going to look good!

Yoana Baraschi has wonderfully cut designs. And her choice of metallic grays is very eye catching. Though her designs are simple. You can still feel like a movie star in one of her garments. This dress is high fashion! I love the fit, color, and style! This will look great with pumps and into fall with a great pair of black boots! My Star suggestions who would wear her designs are Katie Holmes, Nicole Kidman, Christina Applegate, and Paris Hilton.

Black Halo has some really fabulous designs. And their outfits can look great at the office or for any evening event. Now you're looking haute couture! Here are my favorite picks.

Black Halo Jackie O Dress in Black

Black Halo Bouquet Cami Dress

Black Halo One Shoulder Jackie O Dress in Coral

Black Halo Tweed Cami Dress

Beautify your whole look with double strand pearls. As you know Pearls are up there with diamonds. Hence a girls best friend.

Cultured Pearl Double Strand In 14kt

Silver Paua Shell and Pearl Double-strand

Finish your look with a pair of Kate Spade point silver flats. Or a pair of silver Jimmy Choo sandal flats in silver. The choice is yours.

Left of Center Swimwear:Misha Barton, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Mischa Barton (source)

It's official...Mischa Barton has been raiding my closet, circa 1994. Although my bathing suit had a little bit of floral infusion, it was very similar to the one she is wearing here. Mischa is notorious for her daring and sometimes questionable fashion choices, be they high waisted pants or see through chain mail dresses, so this is tame in comparison. Though this is not our favorite swimsuit of the season, we have to give Miss. Barton some snaps for not being afraid to wear what she wants and not what everyone else is wearing.

With that in mind, we think that Mischa would appreciate the Geftaki Swimsuit line. With bold accessories and cuts that you won't find just anywhere, they have the perfect swimsuits for those that march to the beat of their own fashion drummer. We can just picture her in this super cute shorts cover up in "sailor" (navy blue) and also available in "creamsicle." Check out Geftaki Swimsuits on Lefashionista.com for yourself and see why they make the perfect addition to your indie summer wardrobe.

Bizarre Fashion Styles of the Rich and Famous, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton (source)

Here's what I will never understand: if you are young, beautiful, rich, famous and have a rockin' bod, wouldn't you want to dress to the nines? I mean seriously, wherever you go, you know you are going to be photographed, right?

I gotta give Mischa snaps for her salute to Fleetwood Mac/70's revival look, but I think that we all know that the high waisted jeans are right up there with pleats and acid wash.

Lindsay, on the other hand, was photographed earlier that day looking stunning in a black and white ensemble that was chic and yet casual. It frankly made her look more mature than she probably is. So my question would be...why go out for a night on the town looking like you lost your top at a frat party and just borrowed the flannel of whatever guy you were hanging all over that evening?

Sigh, I'll never understand...anyways, what do you think of Lindsay's "boyfriend couture" and Mischa's "70's mom-jeans revival?" Is it totally awesome that they march to the beat of their own drummer with their fashion-forward looks, or will they be looking back at these photos in ten years and smacking themselves in the head?

What's New This Week at Life & Style?

Shiny and sexy, the hottest trend going in cocktail dresses is of the strapless variety. Bold colors and sweetheart necklines dominate this haute trend, but Liv Tyler shows them all how it's really done in a gorgeous two-toned asymmetrical style. Want to really punch it up? Add a unique piece of "statement jewelry" for extra sparkle.

Do they have the same stylist? Sometimes celebs seem to mirror each others looks, whether unwittingly or on purpose. However, some stars just know how to pull off certain styles better than others. Exotic leather handbags, bold jungle cocktail rings and wayfarer sunglasses are back in a big way...but which celeb pulled off the look best? Personally, I think it's no contest with Gwen...she owns the safari look hands down.

Spring is in the air, so it should be no surprise that A-list toes are busting out of winter shoes. It is my happy duty to report that sandal season has officially begun, and lucky you, there are tons of cute styles to choose from! Ankle straps and espadrilles dominate this spring, and Life & Style has the inside scoop on the top ten best selling sandals of this week.

One of the most surprising looks this spring has to be silver! Celebs like Jessica Biel and Lindsay Lohan are crazy about this metallic trend that is showing up everywhere from dresses and bags to shoes, accessories and more. Add a little silver to your wardrobe for extra shine throughout the day.

Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz all took their runway looks to the street in their own realist interpretations. Check out how these starlets added their own interpretation to catwalk couture and made it their own.

So many trends, so many days of the week...see how your favorite stars incorporated some of the hottest trends of the season in their looks this week. Mischa wore gingham, Brook Shields in a gold jacket and Paris in natural prints...this should be enough trends to keep anyone busy!

Like what you see here? Thirsty for more? Then head on over to Life & Style, one of the nation's fastest growing mag's for celebrity fashion news, trends, tips and more!

A Bang Up Job, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Halle Berry, Liv Tyler and Christina Ricci love fring benefits (source)

Right now, the hottest trend going right now has nothing to do with shoes, purses or designer jeans. One of the most surprising looks of the season is long, chunky bangs. Long gone are the side-swept romantic pseudo bang of yore; these bangs are in your face, quite literally.

While most celebs that grace the red carpet could pull off any hairstyle and still look good (we're talking to YOU Halle Berry) sometimes this style makes the wearer look either sever or childish. So, if you decide to take a stab at this hairstyle, talk to your stylist first and make sure you have the right face shape. We also suggest you don't try to do it yourself, for fear that the end results may look like you were trimmed up like a preschooler.

What do you think...are bangs "bangin'" or for little girls only?

Style Poll: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron (source)

Sometimes daring, almost always stunning Charlize Theron has thrown me for a fashion loop. I'm all for reinvention, new ideas, different styles and innovation, but for some reason, her getup leaves me slightly baffled.

The hair, the jeans, the jacket, the shoes and the accessories are all working for me, but something about the shirt is so 1990's, and not in a good way. Purple is hot in a big way for spring, but I'm just not crazy about this top.

What do you think...is Charlize's top totally hot, or totally outdated and unflattering?

Mini Madness, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Kahri Hibiscus Mini Dress, $80.00

Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz (source)

Fergie (source)

Carmen Electra (source)

All of that time that you have been clocking in at the gym this winter is about to pay off because mini dresses are in for Spring. Time to bust out those toned thighs and calves because anything goes this season for mini dresses. Whether you want to go conservative or uber short, there is a mini dress out there for you.

If you choose to go with the "super mini" look, like Fergie Ferg, then make sure you follow up with a pair of tights or (shudder) leggings underneath so you don't give everyone around you a Hollywood style show of your bits. And unless you are supermodel tall, make sure you pair your mini with some killer heels to give your legs the most mileage.

May we suggest: the hibiscus trim mini from Kahri is perfect for almost any body type and gives a little more length for mini-shy wearers to play with.
