Primp For Breast Cancer Awareness
Now, the designer t-shirt label Primp (beloved by Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson) has created a line of comfy tops for the cause, complete with a pink-ribbon print and rhinestone detailing. Better yet, Primp and Shopbop (the tees' exclusive retailer) are donating a whopping 50 percent of the proceeds to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

Mischa Barton’s Dress & Keds
I actually love this dress. It’s light and flowy and perfect for the breezy autumn day. It’s just a shame about the shoes. I know she’s promoting Keds here but you would have thought she would have worn something more sneakers appropriate! So a lesson for all you kids out there, no converse-like sneakers with wispy dresses. It just won’t work!

Matthew Williamson Embellished Jacket: Love It or Hate It?
I was all over Matthew Williamson's Spring 2007 runway show at New York Fashion Week, but I'm not loving this Embellished Cropped Velvet Jacket from his Fall collection and available for $1,760 here. Typically, I am drawn to beaded, vintage-inspired styles, and velvet, of course, is huge this season. However, I think this swingy, crop-sleeved jacket looks more granny than glam. But feel free to disagree and tell me what you think: Love it or hate it?

John Rocha - Spring/Summer 07
It was a contemporary affair at John Rocha this season. The collection was kept clean using a neutral palette of, black, ivory, brown, silver and khaki.
Ruffles and puffed sleeves added a modern Victorian quality and elegance to the loose fitting line accessorised with beanies and platform shoes.
Silk shirts, and parachute dresses were given detail with gathering and layered under sleeveless jackets, blazers and parka’s and over cropped trousers and crocheted leggings. read more

Spring 2007 Fashion Week Notebook | Jay McCarroll

Key Takeaways: Structured, chic, slick, monochrome or bright? We’re having a hard time putting one word to Jay McCarroll’s (of Project Runway Season 1 fame) debut solo show after winning back in 2005. (By the way, check out the adorable different colored headphones from his ‘05 collection.) Having met Mr. McCarroll backstage for an interview, we can see why it’d be hard for him to stick with the neutrals and strict shapes that many of the other designers preferred for this season. We loved that his show spanned the spectrum of literal black to white to yellow to blue to green to a mix, but the varied shapes made it occasionally hard to draw a cohesive sense from the line. Nevertheless, the rooster and helium blimp-prints in varying sizes along with the patchwork feel set this collection aside from others. read more Source: Omiru

Best Dressed Is? Couture in the City Fashion Blog
Actress Jennifer Aniston has been named as the best dressed woman of 2006.
In a poll conducted by People magazine Aniston topped the best dressed list with 54% of reader’s votes.
People editor Elizabeth Sporkin tried to explain why Aniston is the People’s choice: “She has a fashion sense that is very accessible.”
”She wears jeans and t-shirts and blazers. She dresses like a regular person, and her evening wear, if you were going to an event, you would think you could really dress like her.”
Halle Berry, Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, Beyonce Knowles and Eva Longoria all featured in the top 10 best dressed women.
However, British glamour model’s Jordan and Jodie Marsh received a lashing for their tacky style and were named as the world worst dressed celebrities.
Surely the American’s have got their own bad dressers…what about Bai Ling?

Fab Fashion Blogs Weekly: New York Fashion Week
NY Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs
On Monday Marc Jacobs rolled out the shockingly 70s-green carpet at his Spring 2007 runway show for New York Fashion Week. The colorful rugs were a great backdrop for the neutral-heavy and gold-tinged line, giving the show a sort of Epcot Center vibe, while the clothes veered between trendy and totally theoretical. There were plenty of notable looks, including cool color combinations like pale yellow and dark gray, surprisingly attractive handbags, and unstructured multi-tiered dresses, as well as big bold prints combined in unfortunate ways. read more

My favourite shade of blue is cobalt so I love the fact it was all over the runways this season. Of course only time will tell whether or not it will be the red and grey of spring/summer but here’s hoping.

Key Takeaways: Funky layering with a liberal sprinkle of vamp. We saw many separately wearable pieces but no sense of cohesion within the line. Detailing ranged from cowl to circle-cut necklines and tweeds mixed with opulent satins. Swimsuits are featured as summer-wear with short kimono sleeve coverings. Suit sets mirror the kimono detailing, while dresses feature short flowy tails. read more

Looks to Keep for Spring 2007
Anyone else out there lovin' Fashion Week? While I like looking at runway shots to see what kinds of trends will be out in upcoming seasons, I also like to see what trends will still be in so I can reuse the previous season's looks. read more

FASHIONWEEK Spring 2007: Calling Elegant Red Carpet Goddesses, Monique Lhuillier is Old World Glamour Central
Summary: Dark outside and a sea of black dresses inside can make even the most festive parties and events feel rather grim at times. Thankfully Lhuillier came up with equally gorgeous & appropriate floor-sweeping columns in a delicious palette of cocoa, loden/olive, burgundy, cream, sage, and dark brown. Unlike many spring collections, prints were conspicuously absent. Waists were defined with a belt-like strip of pale brown embellished with a row of chunky stones. Complete with Robert Palmer-girl chignons & makeup, the collection epitomized classic glamour. read more

Alexandre Herchcovitch and Diane von Furstenburg found a common interest in their vision for SS 07, with oversized metal studs showing up on both runways. Perfect for creating patterns, Furstenburg mixed her metals, while Herchcovitch stuck to just one color. read more

Fashion Week Spring '07. Ashish N Soni

So far this is one of my favorite collections. Sorry it took me so long to post. Ashish Soni was the first Indian designer to be invited to participate in Olympus Fashion week a mere year ago. His aesthetic is deeply rooted in Indian culture but one can certainly see many western influences in his designs. His show last Friday was nothing less than amazing. He has honed his skill of meshing clean lines, draping, beading, brocade with stunning fabrics like silks, linens and chiffons. read more
